2/52 BE grateful

I will BE grateful for the beauty around me.

Psalms 118: 29  "O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endurth for ever."KJV

With so much ugliness in our world I am so grateful for the beauty we see all around us in God's creations. Gen. 1 goes through everything that God created and after he was done it was good.
I'm a girl who loves the Mountains or even near the sea but put me in a big city and all I can see is blah.  Please, do not get me wrong Big cities are fun to visit, to explore, but I never want to live in or near one.  We are extremely blessed right now to live in a very pretty place where we have the sea in front of our home and mountains toward the back.  Whenever we go on a trip I take pictures of God's beautiful creation to remind me of how good he is to us.
Please enjoy these pictures I have taken over the last couple years:

Welcome to beautiful Monterey, CA

Near Monterey in Pacific Grove, there is a Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary.  These butterflies are so pretty and amazing to watch in large groups.  We were able to see one tree covered in Monarchs and many bushes.

This is the view from my front door right now.  I wish, we had a grand porch just to sit and watch these wondrous sunsets every day.

Meet the Big guys.....this is what our four year old Olivia calls them. On the coast guard pier near down town Monterey you can see huge and small Sea lions.  We love to take trips over to see them once a month.

Welcome to my Home town Grand Junction and Whitewater, CO

View from the front window of my Dad's home in Whitewater.  The mountain was being snowed on and it was so amazing to watch.

I took this on my walk one morning.  I was in love with this tree in full bloom, it made a thank God for sure beauty.

The fall colors in the valley are glorious.

This is the view from my Grandma's home in Grand Junction.

I did not take this picture but a friend of my Mom Jan did take it out in Cowboy country.  That Cowboy is my Dad.  He has taught me all about being a great cowgirl and has already started teaching his grand daughter.

I am in awe with God's handy work in so many different part of the world.  I am so grateful I have been allowed to travel around to witness His greatness in all He has made.

1/52 Be grateful

For the weeks in January I am going to focus on........BE grateful
Grateful: (Adj.) feeling or showing gratitude
Psalms 100:4   "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."
I feel it is hard at times to be grateful for the things the Lord has brought our way.  That is why I chose it as my first BE.......

I am extremely GRATEFUL for a healthy little boy by the name of Gage Matthew.  The nine months I carried him was very hard on me physically and emotionally.  But now as I hold him I couldn't love a little boy more then I do now.  I'm so grateful that God decided to make me his mother and caregiver while here on earth.
Birth Story:
For the first 25 weeks of my pregnancy I physically could not leave the couch as I was so ill.  There were so many foods I could not eat because they would cause me to be extremely ill.  Weeks 26-38 I was finally able to move around and leave our home once and a while but not often.  Week 39-42 my hips decided they did not want to stay together and every step was extremely painful.  I had to commandeer my hubby's belt to try to hold my hip bone together in order to move around.
I am very grateful for the OB we found here in CA.  The whole office worked with  me and my issues.  They encouraged me and was so sweet to my three yr old girl.
On Aug. 20, 2014: I went into the OB's office to have my membranes stripped to help induce labor naturally.
On Aug. 21, 2014, 6:00am my water broke. (funny story: for two weeks I had been having nightmares that my water broke while out in public.  I was so scared to leave my home because of these nightmares.)  But I was in bed praying that the Lord would bring our little man very, very soon as I was having a very hard time with the pain.  He heard and answered right away by having my water brake.  I called the Hospital and they said shower and then head their way.  We arrived at the Hospital around 7:30am and was settled  in a room right away.  By 8:30am I was given an epidural as this girl can not handle extreme pain. My body shuts down and I pass out because of the pain.  This is not ideal while in labor. :)  By 10:15am my OB showed up for a check up and found that I was ready to push.  At 10:42am a little 7lb 7 oz Boy was born.

A Names Sake:
Gage means "measure" in middle English but in French it means "one who is defiant", but as you can imagine we didn't choose it for the meaning.  Gage is my husband's middle name and his grandfather's middle name.

One Word photo project 2015

Welcome to my new blog One Word Photo project.  A photographer I follow on FB and instagram Amy Earle put out a challenge to everyone to choose one word to live by for the year 2015.  She and her BFF decided to document this project by posting one photo and blogging about it each week.  I just loved the idea I decided to join the project.  I looked through many words that I felt would really help me this next year but then I came across a very simple but powerful, two letter word.  It tells me to do an action when placed with another word so I felt this word would define me in the up coming year.
BE........
is a linking verb, a verb is mostly an action word.
To be something, anything is very important to our every day life.

I will connect my linking verb to another verb to create what I will work on each month.  Follow along as I share photos and my heart through this project. My greatest goal is to BE whatever God would have me BE......

If you would like to follow me and others on instagram go to #ProjectOneWord

I WILL BE............
